Basketballghana.com can confirm Serbian Basketball League side Red Star Belgrade (Crvena Zvezda) has signed as many as six players this offseason.
Top of the list is the signing of experiences Ghanaian Small Forward/ Power Forward Ben Bentil who played the 2021-2022 Season with Olimpia Milano.
Former Golden State Warriors Shooting Guard Nemanja Nedovic is one of the new players signed by Red Star. Nedovic was the 30th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and played just one season with Golden State before moving back to Europe.
The 31 year old Serb played with Bentil at Greek side Panathinaikos in the 2020-2021 season where the team won the Greek Basketball League title.
Red Star’s other signings are Hassan Martin, John Holland, Dalibor Ilic and Filip Petrusev; Bentil and Nedovic are expected to aid the team’s Euroleague upcoming campaign after failing to make it to the playoffs last season.
Bentil has played in the Euroleague over the past three seasons and has bagged the Italian Cup, League title and Greek Cup along the way.
