Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Forward Ben Bentil has officially joined Serbian basketball league side Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade).
The announcement was made recently after the 27 year old played out his deal with Italian side Olimpia Milano in the 2021-2022 Season.
By joining Red Star, Bentil follows the steps made by fellow Ghanaian and former NBA player Amida Brimah who played briefly in the European nation.
6 foot 10 inch Center Brimah played 13 games for Red Star’s bitter rival, Partizan Belgrade in 2018 and averaged 7.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in 11.7 minutes across 13 games.
He returned to the US to play for Austin Spurs in the NBA Gatorade League after his time in Serbia and reports indicate the former Indiana Pacers man has signed for Japanese top flight side Northern Happinets.
Bentil joins Red Star after winning the Italian Serie A and Italian Cup titles with Milano; he won two Greek League titles and the Greek Cup during his two year stay at Panathinaikos in Greece.
His experience competing in the Euroleague for Panathinaikos and Milano will come in handy to Red Star after the team failed to make it to the playoffs in the continental competition.
