Basketballghana.com can confirm Spintex Knights Basketball Club will compete in the 2022 Tournoi International Basketball Tournament.
The competition runs from July 18 to July 24 at the Palais des Sports Treichville in Abidjan, Ivory Coast with eight teams including Knights set to compete.
The competing teams have been drawn from four West African nations Ghana, Benin, Nigeria and Ivory Coast with Ivorian side Phenix Basketball Club playing the role of the host team; the tournament is in collaboration with the Ivorian Basketball Federation.
Knights is Ghana’s sole representative in the tournament and ahead of its trip to the Ivory Coast, the word on its official Twitter page read, “For God, Club and Country”. (Click highlighted text to read statement)
Spintex is in fine form heading to the competition as the team has won all 10 games played in the 2022 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II to lead Group B standings in the division.
Knights beat Juniour Reformers 74-33 in its final game in the ABL before turning its attention to the upcoming tournament. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)
In the Tema Community Basketball League, Knights have progressed to the final where it takes on defending champion Nungua Coldstore at a yet to be determined date after the Tournoi International.
