Basketballghana.com can confirm American born Ghanaian Center Selom Mawugbe has been added to Golden State Warriors roster for the NBA Summer League.
He is part of the 16 man list announced by the team to compete in the offseason tournament mainly for fringe players hoping to make it on to the main roster for the upcoming NBA season.
The Warriors will compete in the California Classic on July 2,3 and 5 before participating in the Las Vegas Summer League that starts on Friday, July 8.
Mawugbe has competed for Golden State’s affiliate side in the NBA Gatorade League (G League-Santa Cruz Warriors) for two seasons after going undrafted in 2020 following his four year College run at Azusa Pacific University.
The 6 foot 10 athletic defender is likely to score major playing time as James Wiseman (Second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft) is working his way back from injury and could play limited or no part in the Summer League.
Mawugbe in his second season in the G League averaged 7.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2 blocks in 23 minutes across 23 games.
