CEO of award winning sports firm RITE Sports Limited, Yaw Sakyi Afari, has commended the past Executives of the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) for their tremendous support to the organization during its tenure.

He praised the Executive Body led by former GBBA President David Addo Ashong in his speech delivered at the maiden edition of the Basketball Honours held at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Headquarters recently to honour standout individuals for their contributions to the growth of basketball in Ghana. We enjoyed remarkable support from the former leadership of the Ghana Basketball Association led by David Addo Ashong. As we appreciate all the executives- Iddrisu Gamel Ayambire, Rafiq Arthur Mohammed and others, please permit me to say a special THANK YOU to Mr. David Addo Ashong. When things were tough, David will not only offer words of encouragement but will support financially. All it took was a phone call and David will show up. THANK YOU Sir” he said and went on to thank the Ghana Basketball Referees Association for their support as well.

He took time to recognize the efforts of former National Physical Education Coordinator Emmanuel Dormenyah who was in attendance.

A night like this will not be complete without acknowledging the tremendous efforts of former National PE Coordinator Mr. Emmanuel Dormenyah who supervised several successful editions of the Sprite Ball Championship. When we were confronted with difficult challenges during the competition, you proved to be a pillar we could count on. Thank You Sir” he said.

Decathlon Representatives receive Award at Basketball Honours 2022

The maiden Basketball Honours was a success as representatives of Corporate Bodies and Education Institutions in regions outside Ghana’s capital, Accra attended the event.
