Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Forward Ben Bentil’s contract with Italian side Olimpia Milano has expired following the conclusion of the 2021-2022 Serie A Basketball Season.
Milano ended the just ended campaign as league champions thanks to a 4-2 series win in the best of seven games finals against 2021 Champions Virtus Bologna. Milano beat Bologna 81-64 in Game 6.
Bentil played 21 minutes in the series clinching game as a starter and registered six points, three assists, two rebounds, a block and a steal in the win.
In his first season in Italy, Bentil has won the Italian Cup and League title and averaged 10.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 17 Regular season games. He averaged 7.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 12 games.
However, his contract term is up and at the time of writing, no contract extension has been offered to the 2016 NBA 51st overall draft pick. Veteran Center Kyle Hines has had his contract extended till 2023.
Since briefly playing in the NBA for Dallas Mavericks, Bentil has played in top tier leagues in France, Spain, Greece, Turkey and China.
