Basketballghana.com can report Givova Scafati has progressed to the Finals Series of the 2022 Serie A2 Basketball League at the expense of Cantu.
Ghanaian-Italian Shooting Guard-Point Guard David Cournooh featured in the contest for Scafati as he has done for the entire playoffs since moving from relegated Serie A Vanoli Cremona prior to the start of the postseason.
Scafati beat Cantu 73-60 to clinch the series via 3-2 lead; Cantu lost two straight games to open the series but tied it up with back to back wins ahead of Game 5 on Tuesday, June 14.
Cournooh registered five points, a steal, three assists and two rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench in the win; he has altered as a starter and a feature off the bench throughout the series.
Scafati takes on Verona in the final that is to commence on Saturday, June 18; Verona beat Udine 3-1 in its semifinal series to progress to the final.
Cournooh scored one of three two point shot attempts and converted three of six free throws in Game 5’s win.
