YETS Ghana-a non governmental organization that uses sports to empower Ghanaian youth-Basketball Head Coach Alexander Obeng Takyi [KT] has expressed high hopes his outfit will host the Sprite Ball Xpressions and Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.


He said this in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com in the lead up to the Basketball Honours slated to talke place on Friday, June 17 at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA). The award scheme’s is to recognize the contributions of individuals and organizations of styakeholders in the Ghanaian basketball space.


YETS Ghana fortunately is putting up its own youth development center and probably its going to be the biggest youth development center in Ghana…due to the size of our youth development center it is our belief that YETS Ghana would host the Sprite Ball and UPAC in the near future he said. YETS Ghana is set to have a modern multipurpose basketball facility equipped with classrooms, computer lab and dormitories and Coach KT believes the edifice when completed can host Sprite Ball and UPAC; both events are organized by RITE Sports.


Sprite Ball is Ghana’s biggest High School basketball in Ghana and the UPAC is the West African nation’s biggest basketball tournament at the tertiary level. YETS Ghana alumni have participated in both competitions over the years.
