Basketballghana.com can report Ghanaian-Italian veteran Guard David Cournooh has played a leading role in Scafati’s opening series win over Cantu in th 2021-2022 Italain Serie A2 Semifinal Playoffs Series.
Scafati bagged an 89-79 win over Cantu with Cournooh registering 17 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in 23 minutes off the bench.
Cournooh joined Scafati from relegeated Serie A side Vanoli Cremona ahead of the start of the playoffs; Scafati is aiming to qualify to the Serie A.
The 32 year old Point Guard/ Shooting Guard converted all three two point shots and scored two out of a trio of three point shot attempts.
He was equally efficient from the free throw line scoring five of six attempts to pace Scafati; teammate Diego Monaldi tied Cournooh’s scoring mark in the game.
Games 2 and 3 is scheduled to take place on June 7 and June 10 respectively in the best of five games series; the winner progresses to the final to play the winner of the Udine-Verona series.
Cournooh played for Virtus Bologna prior to his move to Cremona.
