Basketballghnaa.com can confirm the University of Ghana [UG] Men’s Basketball Team will compete at the 2022 Federation of African Universities Sports [FASU] Games.
The multisport competition is to be hosted by the Kenyatta University [Kenya] from June Monday, June 6 to Friday, June 10; UG is a two time defending champion after winning the title in 2016 and 2018. The 2020 edition was postponed due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.
Ahead of the start of the competition, UG has been drawn in Pool A alongside host Kenyatta University and University of Johannesburg. The top two ranked Teams progress to the semifinals.
In Pool B, American University In Cairo (Egypt), United States International University-Africa (Kenya) and Makerere University (Uganda) make up the list of competing teams.
The upcoming FASU Games is the 10th edition in the competition’s history that gives student athletes a huge platform to show off their skills across multiple sports disciplines.
Basketballghana.com gathers UG played a friendly game against reigning Accra Basketball League [ABL] Men’s Division I Champions Reformers of Prisons earlier this week as part of preparations for the Games.
UG competes in the 2022 ABL Division II and is yet to lose a game.
