University of Ghana [UG] Men’s Basketball Team Coach Eric Agyapong Ankamah sees a ton of positives in his team competing in the 2022 Accra Basketball League [ABL] ahead of its run at the Federation of African Universities Sports [FASU] Games.
This year’s FASU Games set to be held at the Kenyatta University in Kenya is the multisport competition’s 10th edition and six teams representing six Universities on the continent due to compete in Basketball.
The 2022 FASU Games runs from June 6 to June 10 and Coach Agyapong believes playing in the ABL has come with advantages for his team ahead of the trip. UG is the two time defending champion and has been drawn in Pool A in Kenya. [Click highlighted text to watch game highlights]
‘The Accra Basketball League has also given us the experience, team cohesion and preparedness we need as a group to compete on the African level’ he said to UG Sports.
UG sits atop Group A standings in the ABL Men’s Division II standings with 11 points from winning five of six games played this season. Competition in the league resumes on June 6 after a two week break.
