Basketballghana.com can report Ghana Forward Ben Bentil played a key role in Olimpia Milano’s Game One win over Sassari in the Italian Serie A Basketball League Playoffs.
Milano bagged an 88-71 win with Bentil playing 21 minutes and registering 10 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal. Milano swept Reggiana in the previous round by winning three straight games in the best of five games series. [Click highlighted text to watch game highlights]
Bentil produced an efficient performance as he scored two of three two point shot attempts and converted one of two three point shot attempts.
The former Dallas Mavericks player scored all three free throw shot attempts; this is Bentil’s debut run in the Italian postseason after signing for Milano this season.
Shavon Shields and Luigi Datome led Milano in scoring with 16 and 13 points respectively with veteran Center Kyle Hines producing a steady eight points, seven rebounds and four assists outing in 26 minutes.
Later tonight at 19;45 GMT, Milano plays Sassari in Game 2; the series winner is also determined in the best of five games series.
