Ghanaian Center Nathan Mensah has stated the reason behind his decision to return to San Diego State University to play for a fifth season after withdrawing from the NBA Draft Combine.
Despite withdrawing from the Combine, Mensah had the chance to play professional basketball in Europe but decided to take advantage of the extra eligible year in College, due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, to play for San Diego State.
“I had the opportunity to go to Europe this year and play in a good league, in France or Spain. The reason why I turned it down was because that wasn’t the goal when I first came to this country. The goal was the NBA. I didn’t want to take a shortcut and deviate from the mission I stated for myself.”
Mensah averaged 7.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.2 blocks last season and has a degree in Marketing. Basketballghana.com can confirm Mensah will pursue a Masters Degree in Marketing during his fifth year on Campus.
