Improving the overall play of female basketball players is the motivation behind the organization of the Female Focus Basketball Camps according to Assistant trainer at the Camps, Edwin Haizel.
He relayed this information in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com on Day One of the Camp held at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
Taking advantage of the break in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) after the conclusion of the first round of games, participants were taken through drills in several phases of the sport to improve their overall performance. This according to Haizel meets the motivation criterion for the camp;
“The motivation is about improving female basketball teams to the next level because Ghana basketball female teams are not very well equipped (with tools of the sport)…so we want to train them to become perfect”. (Click highlighted text to watch full interview)
The two day event is targeted at only female basketball players and Day Two is slated for Thursday, May 26 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu from 15:00 to 17:30 GMT.
