SLAC from Guinea, AS Sale from Morocco, Cape Town Tigers from South Africa and Rwanda Energy Group (REG) are no longer participants in the 2022 Basketball Africa League (BAL) after exiting the NBA-FIBA Africa competition at the quarterfinal stage.
On the other hand, defending champion Zamalek from Egypt, US Monastir from Tunisia, Petro de Luanda from Angola and FAP from Cameroon have made it to the semifinals.
FAP is scheduled to play Petro de Luanda and Zamalek is set to play US Monastir with both games to be played on Wednesday, May 25 at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda.
Zamalek play Monastir in a repeat of the 2021 BAL Final that had Zamalek clinch a 76-63 win; Luanda clinched third place beating Rwanda’s Patriots 97-68 in last year’s competition.
The final game is slated for May 28 and the third place game is slated for May 27. Below are the scores of quarterfinal games played:
