Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Center Amida Brimah’s team-Filou Oostende-has qualified to compete in the final series of the Belgian Basketball League.
This comes after Oostende beat Belfius Mons 2-0 in the previous round to set up the finals meet with Mechelen with Game One set to tipoff this weekend at 18:30 GMT on Saturday, May 21.
Against Belfius, Filou recorded 84-66, 78-63 and 90-48 wins to clinch a spot in the final in the best of five games series as Oostende attempts to win another league title. The team has won the Belgian title for 10 straight seasons between 2011 and 2021.
Brimah has missed out on game time in two months including the playoffs as he continues to recover from a foot injury he suffered in a league outing.
The 6 foot 10 inch defender was acquired a few weeks after the 2021-2022 season commenced following his run in Puerto Rico with Mets de Guaynabo that also ended in a finals appearance though Mets lost.
Since turning pro in 2017, Brimah has won the NBA Gatorade League (G League) title; he did so during his time at Austin Spurs.
