Basketballghana.com can confirm Olimpia Milano has secured a 2-0 lead in the best of five games series in the first round of the 2021-2022 Italian Serie A Basketball League Playoffs.
Milano bagged its second win in as many games after scoring a 91-65 victory over Reggiana in Game 2: Ghana Forward Ben Bentil was named a starter in the game. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)
The former Dallas Mavericks player played 20 minutes and registered eight points, a rebound and an assist to aid his side inch closer to a place in the semifinals of the postseason. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)
Bentil was one of three Milano players to score eight points; he was pretty efficient shooting from the field as he converted three of six attempted shots.
However, Bentil would have joined Luigi Datome and Sergio Rodriguez in double digit scoring for Milano had he been more prolific from three free throw line.
The 27 year old scored just one of five attempted shots from the charity stripe; in Game One’s 91-82 win for Milano, Bentil scored 19 points in 26 minutes also as a starter.
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday, May 19.
