On his playoff debut in the Italian Serie A, Ghana’s Ben Bentil delivered a Most Valuable Player Award worthy performance in Olimpia Milano’s win over Reggiana.
In Game One of the best of five games series, Milano bagged a 91-82 win that had Bentil start the game and play 26 minutes to open the 2021-2022 Postseason.
Former Dallas Mavericks player Bentil played 26 minutes and registered 19 points, a steal, an assist and seven rebounds in the win. Bentil was Milano’s second lead scorer as Shavon Shields led the team with 20 points.
While Shields scored more points, Bentil grabbed more rebounds and was more efficient on the night; Basketball portal EuroBasket named Bentil as the top performer for Milano.
Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17 as Milano attempts to win a second title this season after bagging the Italian Cup earlier in the campaign.
The 27 year old would be hoping to build on his fine start in his first playoff run in Italy in the subsequent games.
