Ghanaian-Italian International Small Forward/ Shooting Guard Awudu Abass is now a EuroCup winner after his side Virtus Bologna topped the continental tournament.
Bologna lifted the 2021-2022 edition of the EuroCup thanks to an 80-67 win over Turkish Bursaspor in the Finals. Abass missed the game as he continues to recover from an ACL tear he suffered earlier this season.
The Italian side had veteran former NBA trio of Milos Teodosic, Jakarr Sampson and Marco Belinelli lead the way with 21, 11 and 12 points respectively in the win.
Bagging the title spells a good omen for Bologna as the team prepares to play Pesaro later today in the first round of the Italian Serie A playoffs.
Bologna ended the regular season as the first seed and has been drawn against eighth ranked Pesaro in the best of five games series in the postseason. Bologna are defending league champions after sweeping Olimpia Milano 4-0 in the best of seven games Finals Series.
Abass has won the Italian Cup four times and a league title with Milano in 2018.
