Basketballghana.com gathers NBA and Brooklyn Nets Super star Kyrie Irving has dropped a strong hint of a visit to Ghana in the near future.
This comes on the back of a brief interaction between the celebrated Point Guard and a Ghanaian fan on Twitter mere weeks after Irving’s run in the playoffs came to an end.
Reacting to a Ghanaian fan with the Twitter handle @Balotelliix10 who asked if Irving had ever visited Africa before, Kyrie responded by stating:
“Sooooonnn I’ll be there. I’m turning up Accra with my brothers and sisters” on the same social media platform suggesting a trip to the West African nation’s capital city.
The recent development is the latest connection between Kyrie and Ghana; Irving has a relationship with Nike Youth Ambassador and basketball phenom Jahlil Owusu popularly known as JahSwish whose father is Ghanaian.
In late November 2020, Irving donated sneakers from his sneaker line to members of Mfantsipim School and Shama Senior High School basketball teams for winning the 2020 Sprite Ball Xpressions title in the Boys and Girls Divisions respectively.
The sneakers were handed over over to the respective schools by Sprite Ball Xppressions Organizer RITE Sports Limited.
