Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghanaian Power Forward Maxwell Amoafo will return to the University of Saskatchewan Men’s Basketball Team for his fourth year before stepping into the professional ranks.
“Imma play my last year here then go pro after” he said in an exclusive chat with Ghana’s leading basketball portal.
Despite spending four years already with the Huskies program and heads into his fifth season, the 6 foot 7 inch athletic Forward is eligible to compete at the College level due to the COVID 19 pandemic that caused some programs to shut their campaigns down for the 2019-202 season.
The just ended season was quite a success for the Huskies as the team reached the Canadian National Basketball Championship final game but missed out on winning gold after falling 72-85 to Carleton University.
Amoafo played 20 minutes as a starter and registered 10 points, nine rebounds, a blocked shot and an assist; he missed out on a double double by a rebound. He converted five of six two point shot attempts in the game.
Amoafo starred at Mfantsipim School before joining the Canadian College team.
