Basketballghana.com gathers Ghanaian Center/ Power Forward Nathan Mensah remains undecided about his immediate future in basketball; be it to go pro or return for a fifth season at San Diego State University.
Mensah recently completed his fourth season with the Aztecs in a campaign that ended in a first round exit at the hands of Creighton University in the National Championship tournament.
However, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, College players affected by the pandemic have been given an extra year of eligibility.
San Diego Coach Brian Dutcher addressed the issues stating, “He’s going through the process,” Dutcher said. “He wants to see if he can get some (NBA) workouts. He’s a graduating senior from the business school, and he wants to see what his marketability is. He just wants to test the waters. At some level, it’s better for us if we would know” according to San Diego Union-Tribune
Players can withdraw from the NBA Draft process by June 1 and retain their College eligibility by not hiring an agent. This year’s Draft is on June 23 with the Combine slated for May 16 to May 22.
In the 2021-2022 Season, Mensah averaged 7.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 24.8 minutes across 32 games.
