NBA Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo has heaped praise on Joel Embiid for winning the league’s scoring title (30.6 ppoints per game). Embiid is the first Center to win the title since Shaquille O’Neal.
In an interview on the sidelines of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Nile Conference Games in Cairo, Egypt, the former Atlanta Hawks and Sixers Center expressed his joy about Cameroonian Embiid’s accomplishment.
“This is a young man from the continent (Africa) who went to Basketball Without Borders (BWB). Today, the kid is a NBA Scoring Champion from Africa from Cameroon…who would have ever thought the son of the continent from BWB will be maybe the next MVP” he said.
