TUSK Foundation CEO and Founder Lester Achiah has stated combining education and sports gives young individuals a very bright future. He said this in an interview with Basketballghana.com ahead of the launch of the eCampus EduSports Project scheduled to be launched at the Adenta Court on Saturday, April 9 at 14:00 GMT.
The project is a partnership between TUSK Foundation-a youth basketball program-, eCampus LLC (online teaching and learning platform) and sports firm, RITE Sports Limited.
In the partnership, TUSK’s student-athletes get enrolled on the online teaching and learning platform with the aim of improving individuals’ academic performance.
Addressing the subject, Achiah indicated youth in the Adenta Community also stand to benefit from the project since it falls in line with TUSK’s objective of impacting its members and the community it operates in.
“In five years we want to see athletes excel extremely with sports and academics at the same time. We believe combining sports and education will give them a much brighter future” he said.
TUSK Foundation competes in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division II.
