Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Center Amida Brimah has suffered a foot injury that is expected to keep sidelined for at least six weeks.
Brimah suffered the injury little over a minute played in Filou Oostende’s game against Zwolle in the BNXT League. Oostende beat Zwolle 83-54.
However, minus its defensive anchor Brimah, Filou lost the follow up game 66-75 to Den Bosch snapping its 22 game league winning streak in the process.
Brimah’s Belgian side has reported the 6 foot 10 inch player has suffered a broken metatarsal in his foot and will be in a brace for up to six weeks pretty much ending his season.
This is the former Indiana Pacers player’s debut season with Oostende and he has been a solid addition despite late arrival to the club and battling corona virus infection for a while.
Brimah is averaging nine points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots in 17.1 minutes across eight games in the league.
Oostende leads the league standings and is a favourite to win the title; the team also competed in the Belgian Cup Final and made it to the Basketball Champions League Round of 16 in Brimah’s debut campaign.
