Defending Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I Champions Reformers of Prisons have made a strong start in its title defence.
Earlier today at the Prisons Court in Cantonments, Reformers scored a 64-43 win over Ghana Air Force in a competitive game. Ghana Air Force beat Ghana Fire Service 29-17 at the same venue in the Women’s Division prior to Reformers win.

Sulley Wahab scored the game’s first points with an under hand layup. James Amotoe assisted on a shot with a no look pass, tipped in a missed layup and drained a three pointer to give Reformers a 12-8 with 2:36 minutes left in the first quarter.
Airforce got points from Abdul-Basit Sowah, Michael Dzandu and Daniel Opoku. Mubarak Alhassan and Nana Tuffour traded blocked shots; Reformers led 15-10 at the end of the first quarter.
Dzandu’s three pointer sandwiched Ibrahim Mohammed’s pair of three pointers. Gabriel Ashaley scored off a missed shot for Reformers; Prisons led 26-14 with 4:42 minutes left.
Dzandu starred in the quarter scoring off hard acrobatic drives to the basket. Mohammed scored a three pointer after a breakdown defensive on the part of Airforce. Reformers led 29-23.
Reformers got off to a blistering start in the early part of the third quarter and stretched its lead to 39-26 but Airforce ended the quarter on a strong note to trail 34-43.
Opoku scored a jumper and Emmanuel Lamptey added a three pointer. Reformers Prince Sampson ended the brief run with a 6-0 personal scoring run including a slam dunk.
Nana Kwame Adjei scored late while Ashaley and Lamptey traded three pointers to close out the game.
