On his 27th birthday celebration on March 29, Ghana and Olimpia Milano Power Forward Ben Bentil made a bold statement in the presence of his teammates at a shoot around.
The former Providence College player stated the Italian team will win the 2021-2022 Euroleague Basketball Championship title.
He said this in a speech in recognition of his big day while thanking his teammates for their support in his debut season as a pro in Italy.
“Thank you guys; from the first day I came in here you all took me in like I was here since August I appreciate it’s a great group of guys. I know we are going to win Euroleague I don’t know if you believe it yet but I just want to say I appreciate you all and let’s just continue to improve and get dubs (wins)” he said. Later in the day, Milano beat Bayern Munich 84-77 to qualify to the Euroleague playoffs; the team ranks third behind leaders Barcelona and Real Madrid. Bentil grabbed two rebounds in 6:48 minutes off the bench in the win over Bayern.
