Basketballghana.com can report Santa Cruz Warriors are finishing the 2021-2022 NBA Gatorade League Regular Season on a strong note with the team recording its third win in a row.
American-Ghanaian Center Selorm Mawugbe has been a key figure in the winning streak for Santa Cruz in the NBA G-League including the team’s latest win.
Mawugbe registered 11 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks in 33 minutes as a starter in Warriors 116-112 win over Austin Spurs. The double double from the 6 foot 10 inch defender is his second in the three game winning run. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)
Prior to beating Austin, Santa Cruz recorded back to back wins over Iowa Wolves; in a 111-102 win over Iowa Wolves, Mawugbe registered 13 points, 10 rebounds, an assist and a steal in 36 minutes. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)
In the second game against the Wolves however, the former Azusa Pacific University player had a frustrating outing producing four points, seven rebounds, two steals, a blocked shot but four turnovers as Warriors won 116-112 in overtime.
This is Mawugbe’s second season in the G League and Santa Cruz; he didn’t start any game in his debut campaign but has started nine games this season.
