Basketballghana.com can report California State University-San Marcos Men’s Basketball Team’s 2021-2022 Season has come to an end in the US Men’s College Basketball Division II.
This comes on the back of a 63-70 loss to Alaska Fairbanks in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament. Ghana Center/ Power Forward Joel Mensah played 20 minutes as a starter for California State.
The 6 foot 10 player registered five points, three rebounds, a steal, an assist and a blocked shot in the contest; Alaska’s Shadeed Shabazz led all players with 35 points.
Mensah converted just one of four two point shot attempts and scored three of four free throw attempts in the loss. In his first season with San Marcos, Mensah averaged 7.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in 18.1 minutes across 20 games.
San Marcos recorded 20 wins and five losses in the regular season; Mensah has played for San Diego State University and James Madison University prior to transferring to California State.
