After suffering a 73-79 loss to Limburg United in the Belgian Basketball Cup Final this past weekend to miss out on winning its first title of the season, Filou Oostende is under immense pressure to secure a win tonight in the FIBA Basketball Champions League.
Ghana Center Amida Brimah is in line to feature in tonight’s game against Spanish side Unicaja Malaga at 19:00 GMT after featuring in all three games played thus far in the Round of 16.
A place in the Quarterfinals is on the line for Oostende after losing all three games played in the round so far including losing 59-75 to Malaga in the first round.
Oostende must beat Malaga to stand a chance of progressing to the quarterfinals after the withdrawal of Ukrainian side Prometey from the competition due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in recent times; prior to its withdrawal, Prometey was unbeaten.
Brimah is averaging 10.7 points, 2.8 blocks and 6.8 rebounds in the competition for an Oostende side that ranks sixth in scoring and ninth in assists generated in games in the Champions League.
