Basketballghana.com can report American born Ghanaian Selom Mawugbe has made a rare start for Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA Gatorade League (G-League).
Mawugbe featured in Warriors 119-127 loss to Team Ignite in the G League Regular Season and played 18 minutes; his time on the court was the least among the starters.
The 6 foot 10 Center scored eight points and added two steals and three rebounds; he did however, turn the ball over twice in a game teammate LJ Figueroa led with 28 points. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)
Mawugbe converted four of five field goal attempts but surprisingly attempted no free throws in the game. The loss is 13th in 23 games played this season.
Former Azusa Pacific player Mawugbe has played in 14 games this season and is averaging 5.6 points, 2.0 blocks and 6.6 rebounds in 18.9 minutes.
Santa Cruz Warriors are affiliated to NBA side Golden State Warriors; Santa Cruz ranks 11th in the 13 team Western Conference standings.
