James Amotoe and Carlen Adjei have emerged as the Most Valuable Player Award winners in the Male and Female Divisions respectively at the just ended University of Cape Coast (UCC) Wildcats Invitational Basketball Tournament.
The second edition of the Tournament was played out at the Cape Coast Stadium recently and had the host institution UCC sweep the team and individual awards.
UCC beat Takoradi Technical University (TTU) 51-35 in the Men’s Final and UCC topped TTU 45-12 in the Women’s Final to complete the double.
Swingman Amotoe played a key role in UCC’s unbeaten run to the title as did Guard Adjei in the Women’s Division. Amotoe continues his impressive form on the back of winning the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I MVP Award after leading Reformers of Prisons to win its first ever ABL title.
UCC Coach Thomas Amediku was named Best Coach in the Men’s Division while TTU’s Dr. Owusu Ansah Ankrah was named Best Coach in the Women’s Division.
