Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has picked up wins in the opening rounds of the 2021 UCC Wildcats Invitational Tournament taking place at the Cape Coast Stadium.
TTU Men’s Basketball Team beat University of Education –Winneba (UEW) 33-28 while the Women’s Team topped UEW 26-15 in a strong start for the Western Region institution.
Despite forcing a handful of turnovers from UEW, TTU was heavily guilty of registering unforced turnovers through its multiple attempts to score off fast breaks in the first half.
In the second half, TTU settled for shorter passes into the painted area and pulled away from their opponent before finally connecting on long alley oop passes for crowd pleasing dunks.
In the opening game, host institution University of Cape Coast thrashed Ghana Police Service 65-23; this is the second edition of the Invitational Tournament.
The tournament is a preparatory competition for all four competing teams in either gender category with UCC preparing to compete in this year’s Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games.
