Rwanda Energy Group (REG) Basketball Club is winding down its preparations ahead of the start of the 2022 Basketball Africa League (BAL).
The FIBA Africa-NBA continental tournament runs from March 5 to May 28 across Senegal, Egypt and Rwanda with 12 teams representing 12 nations on the continent due to compete.
REG recently appointed former Denver Nuggets Point Guard Robert Pack as Head Coach; Pack has been an Assistant Coach for Charlotte Hornets, Portland Trailblazers after a 13 year playing career in the NBA.
Photos taken at REG’s training had the former Dallas Mavericks player leading the session for Rwanda’s representative in the competition.
REG has been drawn in the Sahara Conference and will compete against the likes of 2021 Finalist Us Monastir from Tunisia and Morocco’s AS Sale from March 5 in Dakar, Senegal.
The Sahara Conference has six teams as does the Nile Conference and the top four teams from each group progresses to knockout stage where games are to be played out at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda.
