Basketballghana.com understands the balloting of teams in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division II into various groups is scheduled to take place later today at the Officer’s Mess adjacent the Prisons Basketball Court in Cantonments in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
Teams in the ABL registered to compete in the Men’s Division II for the 2022 Regular Season will know their fate through this ballot. (Click highlighted text to read more on balloting)
Reports indicate 20 teams have completed the registration process and will compete in the upcoming season that commences on Tuesday, March 8. 21 teams were originally set to compete in the new season.
The top six teams from the 2021 campaign are to be seeded across three groups with two teams in each group. Each group will have at least six teams compete for spots in the playoffs.
15 teams competed in last season’s campaign that was run over a shorter period than usual due to the league’s COVID 19 vaccination program.
TUSK Foundation won the 2021 title ahead of Ghana Navy and Galaxy Basketball in a three way race for the title. Nine teams will compete in the Men’s Division I and Women’s Division respectively.
