Basketballghana.com can report American born Ghanaian Small Forward Bashir Ahmed continues to lead his team in scoring as the 2021-2022 Regular Season of the Romanian Basketball League draws to a close.
Ahmed was the lead act once again for Targu Jiu in the team’s 75-100 loss to Cluj Napoca in Round 22 list of games. The loss is Targu’s 16th in 21 games this season.
In the aftermath of the loss to the team competing in the FIBA Basketball Champions League, Targu Jiu ranks 14th in the 16 team league standings.
Ahmed started the game and played 34 minutes while registering 26 points, five rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks. He led all players in scoring in the game.
The 6 foot 6 inch player who can play as a Shooting Guard converted his shots efficiently by scoring eight of 12 field goals, two of three shots from three point range and four of five free throw shot attempts respectively.
28 year old Ahmed is averaging 12.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game this season.
