Basketball teams representing tertiary institutions have been engaging in friendly games in preparation for the 2022 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games.
This past weekend, Basketballghana.com gathers the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and University of Professional Studies (UPSA) Men’s Basketball teams played friendly games to fine tune their skills.
UCC Wildcats recorded a 57-41 win over Ghana Air Force and its Female side recorded a 53-27 win over Ghana Air Force in Cape Coast. The Air Force team competed in the 2022 Accra Basketball League.
UPSA played against Adenta Wolves and Kaneshie Swanlakers at the institution’s court in Ghana’s capital, Accra. UPSA recorded 72-80 and 63-69 losses respectively.
The GUSA Games is a multi discipline sports competition held biannually and due to be staged at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi later this year.
At the last GUSA Games held at the University of Ghana in 2020, UCC missed out on the gold medal in a controversial final game against the host. UPSA on the other hand failed to progress to the latter rounds.
