Australian Coach Liz Mills continues to rack up a lot of “First” titles in her career in the wake of her latest appointment after making history in 2021.
Mills led Kenya’s National Men’s Basketball team to clinch its first appearance at the African Basketball Championship (AfroBasket) in 28 years thanks to a win over Angola.
Since leading the Morans to the 2021 FIBA AfroBasket, Mills has been appointed as Head Coach of Moroccan side AS Sale ahead of the team’s participation in this year’s Basketball Africa League (BAL).
The 2022 edition of the FIBA Africa-NBA continental tournament runs from March 5 to May 28 with games to be hosted in Senegal, Egypt and Rwanda.
Sale finished in sixth placed with two wins and two losses in the 2021 BAL and has been drawn into the Sahara Conference and is due to play last year’s finalist US Monastir of Tunisia.
Mills has extensive Coaching in Africa with stints in Zambia, Cameroon and Rwanda; she is set to become the first Female Head Coach at the BAL.
