Basketballghana.com can confirm the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Main Outdoor Basketball Court has been repainted amid preparations for the 2022 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games.
The biannual multisport games are due to take place in April this year with UCC as a strong contender for the overall medal table winning spot.
Members of UCC’s Men’s Basketball Team known as the Wildcats were involved in repainting the court in the unique blue, purple and yellow colours.
The team recently competed in the Atta Boye Cup against Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I Champions Reformers of Prisons and won the title.
Prior to the recent activities, UCC held a series of tryout for players in the Men’s and Women’s categories under the guise of Coaches Selorm Amediku and Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi.
UCC finished in second place at the 2020 GUSA Games in Men’s Basketball after falling in a controversial game to Host University of Ghana. The final was concluded a day after the original game when crowd trouble forced the game to be postponed.
