Ghanaian-American Shooting Guard/ Small Forward Bashir Ahmed produced another good performance for Targu Jiu but his efforts weren’t enough to prevent his team from suffering another loss.
Dinamo Bucharest beat Targu Jiu 83-73 in Round 19 of the 2021-2022 Romanian Regular Season; the loss is Targu Jiu’s 13th of the season in 18 games.
Ahmed has consistently scored in double figures and did same in this matchup as he registered 11 points, seven rebounds, an assist and a steal in 33 minutes as a starter.
The 28 year old was one of three players to score in double figures for Targu as Malik Morgan and Kevin Allen scored 15 and 12 points respectively.
Ahmed scored five of seven free throw shot attempts but struggled shooting from the field; he scored just three of seven two point shot attempts and missed both three point shot attempts.
The team ranks 13th in the 16 team league standings and Ahmed is averaging 10.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists in his first season with the team.
