Basketballghana.com can report Musa Kida has retained his seat as Chairman of the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) after the conclusion of elections held earlier today.
The hotly anticipated and keenly contested elections that was originally scheduled to take place late in 2021, had to be postponed due to legal issues. Today’s elections were supervised by basketball world governing body FIBA and Nigeria’s Olympic Committee.
Kida maintains his reign as Chairman of the NBBF for four more years and ahead of the elections trumpeted the list of achievements his administration achieved during the immediate past tenure. (Click highlighted text to read story)
The NBBF’s official Twitter account tweeted congratulatory to the accomplished Oil Engineer mere minutes after the results were officially released.
Despite overseeing Nigeria’s Women’s National Basketball Team win its third AfroBasket title in a row and having Nigeria represent Africa at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Kida’s administration had several trying times.
Prominent among the challenges was Female National Team players go on strike over unpaid bonuses after competing at the Olympics and AfroBasket.
