Basketballghana.com gathers a series of try out games are being held by the University of Cape Coast (UCC) for its Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams.
The tryouts come at a time the teams are preparing to compete in the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games later this year. Defending champions University of Ghana (UG) is schedueld to hold similar try outs on January 27 and January 28.
The 2022 GUSA Games are slated to commence in April at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) taking over hosting duties from University of Ghana who held the multi sports biannual competition in 2020.
Returning players including Benjamin Debrah and Elvis Pobi-Siaw were captured competing in the try outs with potential additions to the team.
The scrimmages were supervised by Coaches Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi and Thomas Amediku with the tryouts taking place at the institution.
UCC Men’s Basketball team finished in second place at the 2020 edition behind University of Ghana under controversial circumstances with the game’s final result declared after a rearranged game was played out following the postponement of the originally scheduled game due to crowd trouble.
