Basketballghana.com gathers over 50 players are in line to try out for places in the University of Ghana (UG) Men’s Basketball Team later this week.
The tryouts are likely to have over 50 players vie for places in the three time defending Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Men’s Basketball Champions UG.
The upcoming event takes place on Thursday, January 27 and Friday, January 28 and reports indicate the try outs are to be held at the institution on the aforementioned dates.
This comes ahead of the 2022 GUSA Games in April at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The GUSA Games incorporate sports disciplines such as football, table tennis, long jump and volley ball among others biannually.
UG has been busy competing in friendly games and tournaments to prepare for the GUSA Games including placing second at the Waterpark Sports Invitational Tournament (WPSI)late in December 2021.
UG beat University of Cape Coast (UCC) at the 2020 GUSA to clinch its third gold medal in a row.
