Western Regional Basketball Association (WBA) Chairman William Ackom Ocran has stated his outfit has expectations for the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA)’s partnership with Lithuania Basketball Federation (LBF) and International Basketball University (IBU).

He said this in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com during the GBBA-LBF/IBU Team visit to the Western Regional capital, Takoradi recently as part of it activities to assess the state of basketball in Ghana.

An exhibition game between a select side from the WBA League and the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) Men’s Basketball Team was played with an aim to select outstanding players for the national select side.

Expressing his thoughts about the exercise, Chairman Ocran stated, “It’s a very good program and the Association and the region we also welcome it. We see that it’s going to project something good for our boys here in the region as well as for Ghana and we have very high expectations; now our boys would get the opportunity to play on the big stage.

The LBF is expected to provide technical expertise to aid Ghana basketball’s development per the agreement signed in a Memorandum of Understanding between the GBBA and LBF.
