Basketballghana.com gathers players who are to make up the initial phase of a national select side for Ghana are likely to be named later this week.

This comes on the back of a series of exhibition games played across locations in Ghana’s southern sector; Cape Coast, Takoradi, Accra and Kumasi played host to such games.

The games were organized during the tour by members of the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA)-Lithuania Basketball Federation (LBF)/ International Basketball University (IBU) Team to assess the state of basketball in Ghana.

The aforementioned team was led by GBBA Vice President Alex Kukula, LBF Representative Jonas Vainauskas and IBU West Africa Director Richard Borsah.

Standout players in various regional leagues made up such teams to compete in the exhibition games; players from the Western Basketball Association competed in the Western Region tryouts while players in the Accra Basketball League competed in the Accra tryouts played at the Adenta SSNIT Flats Court.

The team selected would undergo changes before a final roster is named for a trip to Lithuania to play a series of friendly games in August.
