LBF Representative Jonas Vainauskas speaks to Players after exhibition game in Takoradi

Lithuania Basketball Federation (LBF) Representative in Ghana Jonas Vainauskas has stated he is looking forward to return in February to put finishing touches on player scouting for a national select side.

He said this in an interview with Basketballghana.com after watching an exhibition game played between Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a select side from the Kumasi Basketball League at the Paa Joe Stadium Court.

The game concluded the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA)-Lithuania Basketball Federation (LBF)/ International Basketball University (IBU) Team Tour of Ghana’s Southern Sector while assessing the state of basketball in the country.

A visit to locations in Ghana’s Northern Sector is expected in February where meetings with regional associations and regional league executives are to take place.

“I am looking forward to come back in the next month…so I can finalize the scouting of (players for) Team A and Team B for national selection. It’s been a very productive journey in terms of getting our project across and also to be able to scout” he said.

Vainauskas earlier today met with a group of Deaf Basketball persons on his return to Ghana’s capital, Accra.
