Basketballghana.com can confirm the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA)-Lithuania Basketball Federation (LBF)/ International Basketball University (IBU) Team has concluded its visit to the Ashanti Region.

The visit concludes the southern sector tour by the Team honouring agreements signed in a Memorandum of Understanding between the GBBA and LBF and IBU respectively to assess the state of basketball in Ghana.

A tour of the West African nation’s Northern Sector is due to commence in February; the GBBA-LBF/IBU Team visited Cape Coast, Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi during the southern tour.

Like the previously visited areas, a meeting with officials from the regional branch of the National Sports Authority (NSA) and Ashanti Regional Basketball Association was held.

NSA Acting Regional Director Emmanuel Kojo Appiah and Ashanti Regional Basketball Chairman Professor S.O. Afram honoured the call to meet and discuss issues affecting basketball development in the region.

LBF Representative Jonas Vainauskas, GBBA Vice President Alex Kukula and IBU West Africa Director Richard Borsah were at the meeting held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
