Basketballghana.com can report a high powered delegation from Takoradi Technical University (TTU) earlier welcomed today members of the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA)-Lithuania Basketball Federation (LBF) entourage to the University’s Main Campus in Takoradi.
The entourage is on a four day tour assessing the state of basketball in Ghana via meetings with Coaches, Administrators and Players at various spots in the West African nation.
The assessment, the first of two, forms part of the first line of activities to be executed as stated in a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the GBBA and LBF and International Basketball University (IBU) respectively.
TTU Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Victor Bondzie Micah welcomed the entourage to the Institution with high ranking members of the Western Regional Basketball Association (WBA) including Chairman William Ackom Ocran, Board Chair Owusu Ansah Ankrah, Secretary General John Amu and Special Aide to the GBBA President Kweku Baffoe Appiah.
On his part, Professor Micah proposed to LBF Representative on the Tour Jonas Vainauskas, TTU’s readiness to create a satellite campus for the Lithuanian based IBU.
GBBA Vice President (Administration and Finance) Alex Kukula, LBF and IBU representative in Ghana Richard Borsah and Secretary of the LBF-GBBA Tour Thomas Amediku chaired a press conference and were special guests on Radio Premier and an exhibition game.
TTU topped a special select side made up of players from the WBA 46-32; the tour also functions as a means to select players to the initial phase of a revamped Ghanaian Basketball Team.
