GBBA Executives with NSA Executives

Executives of the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) have paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s National Sports Authority (NSA) Director General Professor Peter Twumasi.

President Ato Van-Ess led the GBBA delegation and Secretary General and Vice President (Administration and Finance) Rafiq Arthur and Alex Kukula were present at the meeting with top personalities from the Authority.

NSA Deputy Director General in charge of Administration and Technical respectively, Majid Bawa and Kwame Amponfi Jnr. were on hand to receive the GBBA Execs.

The parties discussed several issues relating to the development of basketball in Ghana; a sport that is ready to really take off in popularity and impact but has been grounded due to financial and infrastructural problems.

Professor Twumasi praised the GBBA’s handling of the elections brought the new executives into power that was devoid of fracases often witnessed at various sports bodies elections.

GBBA President Van-Ess pointed out the Association’s first major activity for the year (activating a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lithuania Basketball Federation) to the NSA’s top hierarchy.
