Charm Basketball Academy Head Coach Ernest “Oxy” Koomson has stated his outfit has set out to make a big statement in Ghana Basketball in the Men and Women’s categories.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com on the sidelines of the Waterpark Sports Invitational (WPSI) Basketball Tournament.

Charm’s Women’s team shocked fans by beating Basketball School Academy (BSA) 39-30 after recovering from a double digit loss in the first quarter. BSA competed in the 2021 Accra Basketball League Women’s Division.

“In the first quarter we had to fix some few errors so if you noticed I had to fix that with the timeout calls and in the second quarter they picked and it all turned out to be good…We are here to make a big statement in the country we are coming to take over with a big project with both the male and female sides” he said after bagging the shock win.

The three day WPSI competition concluded on Wednesday, December 22 at the DUNK Court in Jamestown in Ghana’s capital, Accra that had Charm’s Men’s team miss out on the title but produced one of the tourney’s best plays. (Click highlighted text to watch highlight play)

Galaxy Basketball Academy topped the tournament thanks to a 52-42 win over University of Ghana in the final game. Six teams competed in the tournament.
